Sizing

The perfect fit is essential to getting the most out of your jewellery. Rings, in particular, require thorough measuring to ensure they sit comfortably and offer full mobility.

order your ring sizer

A ring sizer is a great option if you are unable to get a professional measurement. Buy your ring sizer from our online shop and we will deduct the cost, including shipping, from your next purchase. Orders from Austria should arrive within 2-3 working days, while EU shipments may take up to 7 days.

general Ring Sizing Tips

  • We recommend having your ring size measured by a professional. If you are unable to visit our Atelier, this service is provided by most jewellers. Otherwise, our ring sizer is a great option.

  • While there are exceptions, your hands tend to differ in size. Make sure you measure the correct finger on the hand you want to wear the ring on.

  • Your fingers may vary in size depending on the seasons or body temperature. Try to measure your ring size in normal conditions.

  • Your fingers may even change throughout the day! Measure your fingers at various times to get an accurate reading.

  • Depending on the width of the ring, your ring size might vary +/- 1 size. Take into consideration that wider rings can sit a little tighter, whilst slimmer rings may sit a little looser.

  • If you have wider knuckles, be sure to choose a size that just fits over your knuckle. This ensures your ring won’t be too loose once it’s sitting in the right place. Remember, it should never be painful to put a ring on!

  • If you are planning on surprising your partner and need help with their ring size, please contact us and we can discuss what’s best for your situation.

Necklace Sizing

At Katie g. Jewellery we love irregularity, both in jewellery and people. We all come in different shapes and sizes, as do our necks, which is why necklaces might fit everyone a little differently. There are, however, general rules of thumb. Our necklaces come in the following basic lengths:

  • Short (42 – 50cm)

The ideal length for petite pendants like the Mini Tag or Mini Ring pendant. Shorter necklaces, especially between 42 — 45cm, tend to fall around the base of the neck.

  • Medium (50 – 70cm)

For medium and larger size pendants like the Wide or Slim Tag Pendant, this length sits around the middle of the chest. For men, we recommend a length anywhere between 60 – 74cm.

  • Long (75 – 90cm)

For larger pendants like the Silver Chunk Ring, this length sits above your belly button. This length calls for big statement pieces.

CUFF Sizing

Cuffs are made of one solid piece of metal which, unlike bracelets, need to be fitted to sit comfortably. The perfect fit in both size and shape is essential, not only for comfort but also to guarantee the longevity of your cuff. Many of our larger, more rigid pieces can only be bought and fitted in our Atelier. However, our slimmer cuffs can be adjusted at home and are available from our online shop.

To assure a great fit of your hammered cuff, please follow these steps:

  • Use a soft fabric measuring tape.

  • Measure the base of your wrist where you would wear your cuff.

  • Leave a little room underneath the band (as shown in these pictures) to ensure a comfortable fit. Wrists not only vary in size and circumference but also in shape. When you first receive your piece, gently place it on your wrist. You should be able to put the cuff on and off without bending it.

  • You can adjust your piece when you first receive it but try to avoid bending it back and forth as this can weaken the cuff over time.

  • Once your cuff has been fitted perfectly, it will be by your side for a lifetime.
